About the Company
We are a Dubai based EdTech startup looking to leverage the power of new-age thinking and the science of data to re-imagine education management. We believe that with rapid innovations in Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI), conventional education management and delivery models will get disrupted. We want to be at forefront of this disruption in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and want to democratize the availability of these innovations to all, including marginalized communities.
Today, innovation in EdTech is happening in silos, with many innovative products and tools sprouting as parallel offerings – which creates a challenge for schools and teachers due to their inability to leverage this innovation and the cumulative insights it could deliver. The need-of-the-hour may not be incremental innovation but rather a shift towards greater collaboration to make this innovation accessible and scalable across the ecosystem, globally.
Our vision is to create a single, integrated, data-driven education platform that can leverage existing and future innovations (both our own and that of our partners), and allow a seamless single point access to all users – enabling users to benefit from industry’s best innovations.
Charlie can whistle with his mouth wide-open. It’s not a pretty sight, but it is compelling to watch…ish.
‘Being part of this awesome team and the journey we are all about to embark on is what gets me out of bed each morning. I’m genuinely happy to hear the alarm go off!’
A self-professed ‘aquaphile’, Karun loves the ocean and is fascinated by marine-life. He’s a certified diver too, which explains the constant hand gestures.
‘Every employee here is super passionate about what we are trying to achieve and this makes work not seem like work. Although, I've been here less than a year, I wake up in the morning feeling like this is MY company and I guess most of us here have similar sentiments.’
Sarah is half Korean and half Bahraini, something she insists throws some people off ‘I don’t fully look either!’
‘The potential for large-scale impact, particularly in marginalized communities gets me out of bed each morning’
Don’t mess with Farah… She has a green belt in Taekwando! Yes, that means she can break through two-inch boards with both her hands and feet. Probably not together, mind you.
‘What gets me out of bed each day? The social impact of our work, the people here at scida and the work culture we are cultivating.’
Hussain has a compulsive habit of adding the digits of the string of numbers on car number plates. He has not progressed to adding two number plates together yet though.
‘The opportunity to push my limits each day is hugely motivating’
Smruti can hold her breath. For 2 minutes. Whilst underwater. Doing a handstand! Rumours of her being part-fish are false.
‘The thought of learning something NEW and knowing that I will be getting an opportunity to perform much better than yesterday is what makes me get out of the bed every morning!’
